OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
At ibis Adelaide, we prioritize environmental sustainability and the responsible management of our operations. By implementing eco-friendly initiatives and practices, we aim to lead by example and encourage our guests and partners to join us in our journey towards a greener future.
ELIMINATING SINGLE-USE PLASTICS
You will notice no old-fashioned single bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel, no plast-covered pillows and blankets, and no little plastic tubs of butter or jam on our buffet. All of our Grab & Go meals are also served in bio-degradable containers with bamboo cutlery.
We know it is an adjustment for all, but plastic is not only harmful to the planet but is often harmful to our health whenever we come into contact with it. We will continue on this journey of creating a safer environment for our guests and lessening the effect on our environment.
SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT
We are committed to our responsibility of sourcing sustainable and locally sourced products whenever possible. By supporting local businesses and using eco-friendly products, we strive to minimize the carbon footprint while ensuring the food quality for our guests.
ELECTRICITY USE REDUCTION
South Australia is on a journey towards all renewable sources of energy. We at ibis Adelaide, also focus on reducing the use of electricity where possible. So what are we doing?
- The entire building is fitted with LED lights - most energy-efficient and rapidly developing lighting technology that uses at least 75% less energy than incandescent lighting.
- Out hotel features energy-efficient practices, including motion sensor-controlled lighting to conserve electricity when guests leave the room.
- Our Air-conditioning units are set to a range of 21 C to 24 C with either a COOL or HEAT setting - this small change had a significant impact on energy consumption whilst still keeping our rooms at a comfortable temperature.
WATER CONSERVATION
We at ibis Adelaide, are playing our part by conserving water and switching to smart water management techniques.
- All 311 hotel rooms are fitted with water-efficient shower heads and sink taps.
- We harvest rainwater for use in certain public areas between Ground Floor and Level 1.
- We encourage all guests to reuse their towels during their stay.
- We only change bed linen every 3 nights - this significantly reduces water usage but still keeps the bed feeling fresh and comfy.
JOIN US IN OUR GREEN JOURNEY
We extend a warm invitation to all our guests to embark on our eco-friendly journey. When you select ibis Adelaide, you're joining us to create a more sustainable environment. Together, we can make a difference and contribute to cleaner, greener, and healthier planet.
